MINUTES OF SPARC MEETING – JANUARY 1, 2016
7:30p.m. the meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance, recognition of guests and introductions were made. Secretary’s Minutes for November were accepted by membership. Tom – AI4QP read the Treasurer’s Report. The Treasurer’s 2015 books were successfully audited. Ed – NZ1Q, gave the Vice President’s Report, Home Brew Night will be held in February and he gave a brief introduction to the evening’s program. Johnny – W4TSP, read the Net Manager’s Report, the Buy/Sell Net has been discontinued due to lack of interest as well as the Buy/Sell web site unless someone volunteers to take over and continue both. Looking for a Net Controller for Wednesday nights. Dave – KR4U, gave the Club Trustee Report, the club station will participate in the ARRL RTTY Roundup January 2-3, 2016. The club station is running well and the Winter edition of the newsletter needs input from the membership. Ron – KP2N gave the Repeater Report, all repeaters are working well. Tom – AI4QP, gave the Membership Report, three new members joined the club. Donn – N4KII, gave the VE Report, 11 test takes for upgrades and new licenses. All reports were accepted by the membership.
Old Business – Dues are due. The After Holidays Party will be held January 31, 2016 at the Skyway Diner, 4000 34th St. South, St. Petersburg.
New Business – after the evening’s 50/50 there was a drawing for a 10 meter transceiver. The SPARC Bucket list is on the website. TARC Fest will be held January 9th.
Break was called at 7:56p.m. Meeting was called to order at 8:08p.m. the program for the evening was the Coast Guard’s Rescue 21, (R21), radio system, presented by Dave – W4PXE.
