MINUTES OF SPARC MEETING – DECEMBER 2, 2016
7:30pm, the meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance, introductions and acknowledgment of guests were done. Secretary’s Minutes for November’s club and Board meetings are posted on the club’s website. Treasure’s Report was given by Tom – AI4QP, Vice President’s Report was given by
Ed – NZ1Q, Club Trustee Report was given by Dave – KR4U, SPARC did a clean sweep in the ARRL CW contest. Membership Report was given by Tom – AI4QP, one new member of SPARC, Charles – KM4ZDW. Donn – N4KII, gave the VE Report. Three test takers at SPARC Fest with 2 new Technicians and one new zero to General. No test takers for the regular testing session at the club house. All reports were accepted by membership.
Old Business –
A new winch was installed onto the club’s antenna tower. SPARC Fest 2016 was a success and will be held again November 11, 2017 at the same location, Freedom Lake Park in Pinellas Park. The After Holidays Party will be held at Skyway Diner in South St. Petersburg at 3:00pm, January 29, 2017. Club membership dues of $15 are due for 2017.
New Business –
March being Home Brew month, the club’s program for that meeting will be presentations of member’s ham radio related projects. Tampa Bay Hamfest will be held December 9-10, 2016 at the Strawberry Festival Grounds in Plant City. Orlando HamCation will be held February 10, 11 & 12, 2017 at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. St. Petersburg Fire Rescue will host a National Weather Service (NWS) SKYWARN Severe Weather Spotter training on December 14th, see the SPARC website for more details. The Program for this month’s meeting was Ham Radio Trivia with the following results.
