Meeting was brought to order at 7:30pm by Carol – AB4YI
Pledge of Allegiance – followed by introductions – no guests or “first timers”
Notice to all that the July meeting (July 5th) will be held on the 12th (5th is holiday weekend) – this will be brought up on SPARC nets and at Field Day to be sure all are notified
Primary agenda for this meeting is Field Day –
Ed – NZ1Q – presented a short (6 minutes) video of last year’s Field Day – from set-up to operating – pictures of SPARC members taken by SPARC members
Tom – W4CU presented details –
We will be 5/D or 5/E – depending on acquiring a generator from Charles – W4BPP – to be determined
We will use W4TA
We will have 5 stations – possibly 6
We are hoping to be active all night – with a minimum of 3 operators active at a time
We are looking for volunteer(s) to deal with food
Bonus points – ARRL W1AW announcement – Dave – KR4U – looking for a backup
– Will – W7WMS – looking into contacting Clayton – KJ4RUS
– Educational event – Tom – W4CU will present … to be determined …
If anyone is going to operate from home (or another location) – there are rules to follow – and – for credit to go to SPARC – Club name MUST match exactly – St Petersburg Amateur Radio Club

Hal Chase (acting Secretary) mentioned that position for Club Secretary is open – Bruce – KP4TYA volunteered for the position – will follow up with Club President
Membership – Will – W4WMS – had name of new member – K0IEO – Terry Armstrong – voted in (membership currently 118 – League members – 63 – we must maintain a 50% ratio of Club-to-League to retain our Club’s affiliation)
VE Testing – Pat – AA0O – contact him for testing next month 7/16/2024
SPARC Nets – reported by Ed – NZ1Q – 2M nets – QNI 537 – messages passed 29 – 1006 minutes – over 31 sessions
Dee – N4GD – reported all repeaters are functioning properly
Dave – KR4U – Trustee for W5GAC – all radios and antennas are working properly
Carol – AB4YI – Trustee for W4TA – all equipment operating properly and ready for Field Day
SPARC’s website is reported functioning properly
Newsletter – Bruce – KF4TYA – current letter will be out by July meeting – have anything relevant to ham radio?? Send it to Bruce!
