MINUTES OF SPARC MEETING – MAY 6, 2016
7:30 p.m. The meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance and introductions were made. Moment of Silence for Silent Keys, Bruce – WD9FMI, Pete – WB2SUN and Ernest – AA1IK. Introductions and welcoming of guests were done. Secretary’s Minutes for April were accepted by the membership. Treasurer’s Report was given by Tom – AI4QP, Vice President’s Report was given by Ed – NZ1Q, and the club now has a Facebook page. The Net Manager’s Report was given by Johnnie – W4TSP, presented Dee – N4GD with Certificate of Appreciation for being Net Controller for the SPARC 2 meter net and repeater maintenance. Also not included in last month’s meeting minutes, Bob – KC4SXO was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for being a Net Controller for the SPARC 220 net and Tom – AI4QP was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for being a Net Controller for the SPARC 2 meter net. Dave – KR4U gave the Club Trustee Report, the station is running well. Ron – KP2N, gave the Repeater Trustee Report, repeaters are working well. Tom – AI4QP, gave the Membership Report, New members, Peter – KE0EUQ, Robert – NB2G and John and Diane – Family Membership. Donn – N4KII gave the VE Report, 2 new Techs and 1 new General. All reports were accepted by the membership.
Old Business – The club’s tower base has been cleaned up and the rebar prepared for installation. Coy – KK4JMP, Field Day Chairman informed membership of the various needed services in need of volunteers for Field Day 2016.
New Business – The club is looking for a new Net Control Manager. Johnnie – W4TSP will retire from that duty July 1, 2016. Membership was asked about the creation of a Hospitality Committee and if created it will need a Chairman. The next Executive Board Meeting will be held May 28, 2016 at 2:00p.m., all members are welcome. The Worm Fest will be held May 28th and starts at 8:00 a.m. at Freedom Lake Park. Break was called at 8:00 p.m. 8:15 p.m., the meeting was called to order. The program for the evening was Go Boxes, presented by Clayton – KJ4RUS, Udo – KF4KUL and Andy – KI4VOS.
