MINUTES OF SPARC MEETING – MARCH 4, 2016
7:30PM, the meeting was called to order. Pledge of Allegiance and introductions were made. Secretary’s Minutes for February were posted to club website and accepted by membership. Treasurer’s Report read by Tom – AI4QP, Vice President’s Report given by Ed – NZ1Q, Johnny – W4TSP gave Net Manager’s Report, Dave – KR4U, gave Club Trustee Report, the club station is running well and no problems to report and asked membership for material for the club newsletter. Dee – N4GD, gave the Repeater Trustee report, all repeaters are operating normally with no issues to report. VE Report was given by Donn – N4KII, no test takers for February. All reports were accepted by membership. 3 new members, David – KW4DH, Paul – KA4IOX and Bernie – KB3HBQ were accepted by membership.
Old Business – Clayton – KJ4RUS, informed the membership of the club tower status, everything is going well and waiting for the county to sign off on the required safety screen that was hung at the tower site.
New Business – Tom – NY4I loaned and installed a P3 pan adapter for the K3 rig in the club station. The membership was asked if there was any interest in having informal dinners at various locations, informed about SARnet repeater that will be installed on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and if there was any interest in a possible mentoring program. Let’s get talk to and get to know each other, especially guests and new members. Eckerd College’s Search and Rescue has asked the club for assistance with setting up there communications systems. Ralph’s Hobbies has been sold and there is no longer an Amateur Radio store in St. Pete. Membership was asked where they would like to have Field Day this year. Upper Pinellas Amateur Radio Club will have a Tailgate March 12, 2016 at the Tarpon Springs RV Campground in Palm Harbor. Break was called at 8:09PM.
Meeting was called to order at 8:17PM, the program for the evening was presented by guest speaker Tony DeAngelo – N2MFT, President of the Mid Florida. DX Association on the National Parks on the Air 2016. Meeting ended at 9:06PM.
